I created this piece entirely on my computer, but I think it still captures the joy and vibrancy of a traditional crayon drawing! Using my trusty digital drawing software and a pressure-sensitive stylus, I focused on emulating the textures of those classic art supplies.
I love the simplicity of this piece, with the dog standing proudly in profile as if posing for a portrait. The bold, black outlines give it a playful, cartoon-like quality, while the splashes of rainbow color across its back add a touch of whimsy and personality. I kept the background clean and minimal to let those vibrant colors really pop!
My goal is always to capture the essence of my subject, and here, I think the dog's cheerful expression and upright tail really convey a sense of happy energy. I used thick, almost scribbled lines to create a sense of movement and texture, mimicking the way a child might color with reckless abandon.
